Dr. Elizabeth Harris has a doctoral degree from the University of Denver in Counseling Psychology. She is a licensed psychologist and owner of the Modern Psychology practice. She has provided therapy to individuals, couples, and groups and has conducted psychological assessment while working in a variety of settings including numerous university counseling centers, medical systems, private practices, and community mental health centers. She completed her Health Psychology Internship at the University of Denver’s Health and Counseling Center, an integrated medical center servicing the students of the University of Denver. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety and depression and has experience treating a range of other issues including substance use, eating disorders, trauma, and grief. She has helped clients explore their identity, improve their interpersonal relationships, and manage their stress. Her approach is to create a safe, comfortable environment where her clients can freely express their concerns. She uses a collaborative approach to formulate a therapy plan tailored to each client's specific needs. She uses a trauma-informed, multiculturally-sensitive approach to client care and often employs Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, relational or interpersonal techniques to help clients achieve their goals.
