Therapists for college students near Boulder, CO
I work with you to not just understand what's going on, but also to develop tools to help. Tools to stop panic attacks, tools to manage depression, tools to get organized and figure out what you want in life. We work together to see what works reliably for you. In addition to talking things through, in session and between sessions sometimes you might be writing, sometimes trying a challenging behavior change, sometimes engaging in mindfulness, and sometimes using visualizations. My aim is for you to feel better, and to know what to do to keep feeling better or help yourself if problems resurface. And I try to work efficiently with you, so you are back to your life (and ending therapy) as soon as makes sense for you. Give me a call to set up an initial (free) conversation, at 303-870-9195.
I welcome individuals from all backgrounds. I prioritize working with any and all women, girls, members of the Queer and Trans communities, and expecting parents, ages 15+. As a cisgender white woman I am aware of the privileges I hold and I honor the perspectives, backgrounds, and lived experiences of my clients. I believe in a collaborative therapeutic process and therefore will ask for your input in goal-setting and treatment planning conversations. I will at times offer clinical guidance, but not before hearing what it is you are seeking and hoping to gain from your therapy experience. My work is trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based, aimed at co-creating strong therapeutic rapport. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Mindfulness and Grounding, and Therapeutic Art. Through each of these interventions, I aim to strengthen and empower your voice and provide a safe space to be who you are, without judgment and without expectation.
If you’ve landed here you are probably seeking connection, and hope to find the right professional to support you. Something has gotten in the way, or you’ve lost your way to a life that is rich and meaningful. It may be about fractured relationship, debilitating emotional struggles, over-reliance on a substance, the grip of social media, the persistence of trauma, or elusive life balance. Or you may wish to deepen progress you’ve already made in making a life worth living. I offer the wisdom and skills that come from over 30 years working in mental health. My 20+ years as a licensed therapist have included direct work with people of all ages and in all combinations, often as I also served in leadership positions in residential programs. My primary approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), including ACT for Trauma. Depending on what is useful, I weave elements of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. The work I do is informed by Buddhist Psychology, and often includes guidance in the use of specific meditation techniques to bring clarity and growth. My own life has been enriched by my experience as a person in long-term recovery, my dedicated mindfulness/meditation practice, and my immersion in the outdoors wherever my travels take me.

I use an eclectic, person-centered approach to therapy and use psychoeducation, mindfulness, and strengths-based perspective in my practice. I would value the opportunity to be a part of your journey toward becoming your ideal self. I view therapy as collaborative and an opportunity to gain insight, skills, and growth. I strive to help people not only resolve their current problems but gain the confidence and skills to deal with challenges in the future. I am well-versed in tailoring empirically supported therapeutic approaches to suit the unique needs of my clients, no matter the concern. I have worked with a variety of client concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, injury recovery, interpersonal conflict, and life transitions just to name a few. I also have specific training and a passion for working with athletes, high performers, return to sport, injury recovery/management, TBIs, and chronic pain/illnesses. With a sport and performance psychology background, I often incorporate performance components in my work as I view performance elements not only occurring in sports but all areas of our life. I am a firm believer in the importance of training the mind and body. When in balance, they are capable of incredible feats. Just as you train your body, I will help you strengthen your mind to improve your overall wellbeing and chase your dreams! I am PSYPACT certified, meaning I can meet with clients in several other states (states that are PSYPACT members) and would be a good option for those frequently traveling. I also provide psychological testing/assessment for individuals who may have ADHD, learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, mood disorders, and personality disorders. Charlie Health is a virtual behavioral health program for adolescents and young adults with moderate or severe mental health concerns or co-occurring substance use or eating disorders. Designed to meet the needs of those who require more than weekly therapy, our program combines curated group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy into personalized treatment programs. We are helping to serve those who are in crisis, or have been historically underserved, by eliminating the most significant treatment barriers: geographical and financial access. We work with nearly all commercial insurance nationwide and have no waitlist, thereby helping people access quality, evidence-based care regardless of insurance, location, or other barriers.
Welcome, I'm glad you're here and walking your healing pathway. Therapy can be scary with fears of being judged over your thoughts and feelings. I offer a judgement free environment (don't we do enough to ourselves already) where you can explore new ideas, thoughts and feelings along your journey.

College can be an exciting time, but it can also bring new pressures, uncertainty, and challenges. I work with college students and young adults who are navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, academic difficulties, life transitions, and questions about identity and belonging. Whether you are struggling to keep up with the demands of school, wondering if ADHD or autism may be affecting your life, adjusting to greater independence, or exploring your gender or other aspects of your identity, I provide a thoughtful and affirming space to better understand what is happening and what may help. My approach begins with listening. I take the time to understand you as a whole person rather than rushing to a diagnosis or treatment plan. Depending on your needs, I offer comprehensive psychiatric assessment, therapy, medication management, and adult autism evaluations. Together, we can develop a plan that supports both your mental health and your goals for the future.
