Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has worked in the mental health field since 2004 and wants to see her clients live holistic, full, integrated lives and thus in collaboration with the client attempts to address all concerns in a way that is customized to each individual person's needs and wants. For some individuals this will mean homework outside of sessions (CBT), for others it may mean the use of a specialized technique (like EMDR), and for some individuals this may mean traditional talk therapy (perhaps in conjunction with walking during therapy). Amanda sees adults for individual and group therapy for varying concerns including but not limited to grief, trauma, sexual addictions, depression, and anxiety. Amanda has a particular interest in seeing young adults thrive in the transition from childhood to adulthood.
My name is Elizabeth Bryant. As a LGBTQIA+ affirming couples therapist trained in both Gottman and Developmental Model Couples therapy I have come to learn that not every size fits all. Bringing two different people with their own unique backgrounds, life experiences, and values is bound to be tricky. Trying to build a life with someone is wonderful but a challenging adventure to embark on. I work with a variety of couples including but not limited to LGBTQIA+, monogamous, polyamorous, heterosexual, interracial, and neurodivergent. The majority of the couples I work with are looking for a new way forward together but are facing challenges that often feel unresolvable without guidance. It takes courage, vulnerability, patience, open communication and a genuine desire to heal and grow. It is not a journey taken lightly but together we can create a path towards deeper connection and a joy-filled relationship.
With every twist and turn of life's happenings come the fear of uncertainty, grieving the loss of what once was, and even the excitement of what's to come. I'm here to tell you that your thoughts, feelings, and emotions do not have to be as black and white as the world would try to make them out to be. As a trauma-informed professional, I am passionate about helping clients who seek to heal from their life experiences. Whether you're starting or strengthening your wellness journey, my intentions are to cultivate a safe space for you to redefine a new sense of normalcy on your own terms. Although my treatment approach is rooted in Adlerian and Wellness Counseling, I leverage strengths-based and mindfulness techniques. Anxiety, adjustment & life transitions, stress management, work-life harmony, spirituality, and self-esteem-related issues are my specialties. If no one has said this to you before, I just wanted to congratulate you for taking the time to invest in your mental and emotional health. I look forward to assisting you along your therapeutic journey towards holistic wellness. I am licensed in both Georgia and Maryland.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and Board Certified Life Coach, and Clinical Hypnotherapist that specializes in short-term, holistic approaches. I use approaches that are centered in liberation-focused and feminist therapies/theories which recognize there are often major systems at play (racism, anti-blackness, sexism, classism, misogynoir, capitalism to name a few) influencing how we think and feel about ourselves and our lives. Together, you and I will work to rediscover your authentic self and ways of being that are free from these systems or at the least, engaging with them on your terms. At Flourish Therapy Bar, the personal and the professional are deeply intertwined, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity, joy, sustainability, freedom, accessibility, and courage. These values are ideals and active principles that guide every aspect of our practice.

Life throws curve balls. You don't have to take them on alone. I believe in creating a safe environment to help you manage everything you are carrying. Do others view you as the strong friend or family member who saves the day, but there is rarely anyone who consistently shows up for you? As a Caribbean American, I help men and women heal from trauma and toxic relationships by providing a safe, judgment free zone where you can learn new coping strategies to live your best life. I utilize cognitive-behavioral interventions and a psychodynamic and systems-based perspective that focuses on providing you with the tools to do the work to heal yourself. Are you ready to do the work? I am currently accepting new clients for 2024. Let us collaborate to improve your emotional intelligence, build your confidence, and maintain healthy relationships with others so you can experience as much joy and peace as possible
I am inspired to work in mental health care because I am passionate about helping individuals overcome challenges, find resilience, and achieve a better quality of life. I find it deeply rewarding to be part of my patients’ journeys toward healing and growth, and I value the opportunity to address the stigma around Mental Health and advocate for compassionate, evidence-based care. I ensure patients feel heard and understood by actively listening, reflecting their thoughts and feelings, and validating their experiences. I create a safe, non-judgmental space, pay attention to verbal and nonverbal cues, and tailor my approach to their unique needs, fostering trust and collaboration. Building trust and a strong Therapeutic Alliance with my patients begins with creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and empathetic environment where they feel heard and respected. I approach each patient with genuine curiosity about their experiences and ensure that I validate their emotions and perspectives. Consistency and reliability are key, so I strive to communicate clearly and follow through on what I say. I also prioritize transparency by explaining my thought process, treatment recommendations, and the rationale behind decisions to involve the patient in their care plan actively. Additionally, I respect their autonomy and individuality, recognizing that trust is earned over time through mutual collaboration and demonstrating my commitment to their well-being.
I'm so glad you're here! I welcome clients who may be perceived by others as "having it all together", but internally feel overwhelmed, out of control and are afraid of being "found out". My clients are high achieving and historically marginalized folks who want to work through anxiety, depression, stress management, boundary setting, life transitions, and identity exploration. I frame the healing journey in terms of present, past, and future-what's not working right now, how did you get here, and where do you want to be instead. Together we'll create a space where you are free to dream and make room for your authentic self to shine through. I became a psychologist to become an active part in creating a world that my inner child would feel seen in, and to extend that power and flexibility to others who may have learned that safety and support is not always given- sometimes it must be created. If you are curious about starting your Unapologetic Journey, email me to schedule a consultation today!
Struggling to adjust to college life? Feeling stuck? Wondering why you keep finding yourself in the same struggle, experiencing the same pain or relationship issues, yet again? Or perhaps you feel invisible or unheard, or can't find your own voice? I work with clients to explore how unresolved issues from the past impact the present. In an open and safe environment, we explore authentic feelings and lost aspects of self often censored in general society, toward greater personal insight, growth and change. An accepting and validating therapy relationship can be a key element in the healing of old wounds and opening up of new possibilities. I work primarily from a psychodynamic and relational orientation to work with the deep long-term wounds, traumas, and patterns that shape self-perceptions and influence current experiences and struggles. I will incorporate other modalities as applicable. All genders, sexual orientations, and races/ethnicities welcome. I also offer Brainspotting, a cutting edge EMDR derivative, neurobiological trauma treatment. I am intensively trained in psychoanalytic theory and practice, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples. I also bring over 25 years of corporate experience to my understanding of real world problems that clients struggle with.
Drawing from 10+ years of clinical experience, I use a solution-focused approach to teach skills to overcome worry, depression, anger, stress, guilt, low self-esteem, sleep issues, relationship struggles, and parenting challenges. My clients and I work on improving their wellness and their lives by exploring helpful solutions, perspectives, and habits.
Are you ready for a change? Art therapy may be right for you. It is not always easy to express our feelings with words alone. There are many challenges life throws at us, but sometimes we can work through them best by doing what comes naturally - creating. In my experience everyone is a born creator. I can help you use art and artistic expression to confront your deepest fears and begin the process of healing. You may be stronger than you think. In the long run, my goal is to help you overcome your barriers and attain a fuller sense of ownership over your life. My specialty is in art therapy, but in many cases I find that art is just a tool to start a difficult conversation, to access parts of yourself that may be blocked off because it is painful to think about. It doesn't have to stay that way. I have seen amazing things happen in therapy. It is why I do what I do. If you are ready to make a change for the better please contact me today.
As a psychotherapist, I create a safe space whereby building a relationship, unraveling issues, demystifying oneself, voicing hopes and dreams, and developing wisdom and insight, one can emerge from (and exist in) the forest that is life with a deeper understanding of how to navigate one's mind and the world around us. It is my philosophy that great psychotherapy not only addresses the issues on the table, but also guides one towards greater overall life fulfillment. I have extensive experience is CBT, ACT, psychodynamic and mindfulness approaches working with a variety of populations, mental barriers and social challenges. By developing together the skills of psychological flexibility, I aim to equip you with the skills to successfully endure future hardships on your own in an imperfect world where negative experiences and events are outside of our control. In turn, allowing you to live a life that is gratifying, authentic, rich, purposeful and well-adapted. Aside from my academic training, my psychotherapy approach is also informed by my own queer identity, my multicultural immigrant background, existential worldview, social justice, and the realities of people of working class and low socio-economic experiences. I was born in India, grew up in the Middle East, and immigrated to the United States at the age of eleven. Growing up in three countries taught me to appreciate the diversity of the human experience, but more importantly, helped me understand that deep down inside, many of us want the same things - safety, love, affirmation, and happiness. Following my graduation from Arizona State University in May 2007, I entered the field of mental health with a desire to work in spaces as diverse as the people I intended to help. I began my journey with an internship in private practice, where I developed the skills necessary to treat a wide variety of mood and trauma disorders. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling in May 2012 and spent the next four years working with Native American families on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. My time on the reservation was equal parts rewarding and formative, and it solidified my desire to work with individuals and families who have often been historically overlooked or mistreated in healthcare spaces. Upon moving to Atlanta in 2016, I began my ongoing work with members of local LGBTQ+ communities of color. I also returned to private practice at this time and began my work in daytime television. I was extensively involved with Divorce Court in on and off-camera capacities for several seasons before setting out to found a private practice of my own. The formation of Garuda Counseling is, in many ways, a culmination of my experiences as both a person and as a professional. I am excited to work with individuals for all walks of life, but my passion remains working alongside those who have felt unseen or unheard in traditional counseling spaces. Let’s talk soon - I know we can accomplish great things together.
