I strongly believe that a safe, empathetic, non-judgmental environment is a place that fosters acceptance and growth. You may find yourself faced with life challenges that feel almost impossible to handle, and the need to have your thoughts and concerns heard and validated. I will walk with you on your journey to self-discovery and self-compassion, as well as provide you with the opportunity to find and apply your strengths to your daily life. We will work to identify and challenge any barriers to growth that may be holding you back from effectively navigating and tolerating the uncomfortable emotions and challenging situations that can arise unexpectedly. I use an eclectic approach to counseling tailored to my client and their needs. I believe that building trust between the client and counselor is of the utmost importance in a therapeutic relationship. I have experience working with a variety of clients with varying mental health needs such as eating disorders, body image concerns, depression, anxiety, adjustment to life changes, grief/loss, substance use/abuse, and trauma. I graduated from Georgia Gwinnett College with BS in Clinical Psychology in 2017 and from Mercer University with an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2020. I also completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training at Ebb and Flow Yoga, Spa, & Float in 2017. I have experience working with adolescent, young adult, and adult women in the field of eating disorders, mood disorders, depression, and anxiety. I also like to incorporate my yoga teachings into my counseling where appropriate. I am a mother, spouse, avid reader, counselor, yogi, and friend. But most importantly I am human and I understand how difficult being human can be sometimes. Therefore, I will seek to hear and understand your world and struggles you face in that world. I believe I can help by offering a compassionate ear, coping skills, and a safe place to process emotions. If you are hurting, or just need help coping in general, please do not hesitate to reach out. I would love the opportunity to see if I am a good fit for you! ****VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS ONLY AT THIS TIME****

The hardest part about getting help is that first step where we have to ask. It takes a lot of courage to admit we don't have the right tools for the job, especially when that job is our happiness. Maybe we push people away, or get angry out of nowhere, or carry so much stress we can't sleep. Burnout and depression weigh us down and make it hard to connect with those around us. Our sessions are active and genuine. I work in session to help lower anxiety, build confidence, work through trauma, and to face fear courageously. Our sessions will spend time understanding your values and goals and what you need. I want you to feel like your time was well spent in our sessions. You've already started your journey of getting help and building your skills for a more fulfilling life, and that's awesome! It'll be hard but the fact that you've already begun shows you have strength. If this resonates with you, then I look forward to hearing from you!

At Sunrise Counseling, we understand that people need solutions that work in real life. Many of our clients come to us feeling lost, challenged, or overwhelmed—but through compassionate support and practical strategies, they find the courage to build new skills and feel more confident about themselves and their lives. Since 1990, our practice has been dedicated to helping children, adolescents, college students, women, and families take control of their lives so they can grow, heal, and thrive. Our team of therapists uses a flexible, individualized approach to meet each client’s needs. Sometimes this looks like traditional talk therapy, play therapy, or family therapy; other times it might include Telehealth video sessions for added convenience. We also integrate specialized techniques such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused strategies, and Play Therapy to help clients reach their goals. In addition to individual and family counseling, Sunrise Counseling offers group opportunities, including supportive groups for women and teens. These spaces allow clients to connect with others, share experiences, and learn new tools in a supportive environment. At Sunrise Counseling, we believe therapy should not only bring relief in difficult moments but also empower clients with lasting skills to feel good about themselves and their relationships. Together, we help individuals and families find clarity, resilience, and hope for the future.
