Hello and welcome to my practice! I absolutely love working with college and graduate students. I will help you get to know yourself in a nurturing space where you can be your true self. You can process and explore whatever it is you come to therapy for and I can help you find the tools and support you need to feel more like yourself and thrive. Some examples might be your relationships, academics, college or family issues on your mind, or your thoughts, feelings or behaviors that are worrisome or bothersome to you. I will help you to see your struggles in a new way and ultimately you will feel better. You very likely will feel stronger and more confident too. I can't wait to work with you. Please note that I offer a concierge billing service for my clients who request reimbursement from their insurance plan with Out of Network Benefits. I will submit the paperwork to your insurance directly without you having to life a finger! The check will be sent directly to you. Doing the paperwork is an added stressor and I take that off your plate. My client often get 50% to 80% of my fee reimbursed to them.

Therapy enables us to heal ourselves and sharpen access to our wisest intuition. As your therapist, I will provide a comfortable space for self-reflection, where you will come to understand yourself at the deepest level. In our work together, you will learn to nurture yourself as you build inner strength and serenity. I’ve worked in community mental health, psychiatric hospitals, outpatient treatment centers, and private practice. Driven by curiosity, empathy, and integrity, my approach is built on the belief that every person is capable of growth. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling seen and understood, and to end therapy as your most authentic self. Though there is always darkness in life, I believe light can be found by those who want to see it. I am not afraid of the dark. Bring me your darkness—your pain, your confusion, your hurt—and we will walk together as you find your guiding lights.

Welcome to Meridian Psychotherapy Associates, where we support the unique needs of college students. We understand that the college experience can be an exciting yet challenging time, filled with academic pressures, personal growth, and various transitions. Our goal is to provide a specialized and nurturing environment where college students can find solace, understanding, and guidance as they navigate this critical phase of their lives. Our approach to individual therapy is anchored in a deep understanding of the issues they commonly encounter. We address a wide range of concerns, including stress management, anxiety, depression, academic pressures, time management, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and more. Our Trauma informed therapists are skilled in helping college students cope with the complexities of their academic, social, and emotional worlds. For college students in committed relationships, we offer couple therapy to support them in fostering healthy communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening their bonds. We recognize that maintaining a healthy relationship while attending college can be demanding, and our couple therapy sessions are tailored to address the unique challenges couples may face during this phase of life. We also offer adult family therapy, recognizing that family dynamics can play a significant role in a college student's well-being. Our family therapy sessions provide a safe space to explore and resolve familial conflicts, improve communication with parents and siblings, and foster a supportive environment for personal growth and development. To enhance accessibility and flexibility, we offer both in-office and telehealth services. We understand that college schedules can be demanding and unpredictable, so our telehealth option allows students to receive therapy conveniently from their dorms, apartments, or any private space. At Meridian Psychotherapy, we prioritize the mental health and well-being of college students. Our licensed therapists are not only skilled clinicians but also empathetic allies who genuinely care about the success and happiness of our student clients. We recognize the importance of providing a confidential and non-judgmental space for students to share their concerns and explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Our commitment goes beyond therapy sessions, as we strive to empower college students with coping skills and resources they can carry forward throughout their academic journey and beyond. We work collaboratively with students, empowering them to overcome challenges, develop resilience, and build a strong foundation for their future. If you are a college student seeking support and growth during this transformative time, we encourage you to take the first step towards better mental health. Reach out to us for a consultation, and let us be a part of your journey towards personal and academic success. Together, we can navigate the college experience with strength, confidence, and resilience.

I specialize in diagnosing and treating mental health and substance use disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and ADHD. I am especially passionate about advocating for patients and helping them feel seen, heard, and supported throughout their mental health journey. I believe everyone deserves compassionate, respectful care where their voice matters. Mental healthcare can be life-changing when people feel genuinely supported. I incorporate evidence-based therapy modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, exposure therapy, and motivational interviewing. These approaches help build coping skills, change unhelpful thought patterns, regulate emotions, and increase motivation for behavior change, improving overall functioning and treatment outcomes. Outside of work, I unwind by spending quality time with my family, watching sitcoms, and listening to music. I also prioritize taking vacations and time away to recharge, which helps me maintain balance and return to work refreshed and present for my patients.

Welcome, First of all, be sure to take a deep breath and know that whether you choose to work with me or someone else you will get through this process! Choosing a therapist is not an easy task. I look forward to setting up a time to speak with you after you review my clinical background and training. Most college students appreciate the sense of humor and warmth that I bring to our discussions. They feel connected and engaged with a real person who cares about them in a personal way. They also appreciate my ability to help them identify practical solutions to the academic and emotional issues that they voice in our meetings. My wide range of clinical experiences allow me to help my patients move through treatment with a sense of energy and a feeling that their strengths are both appreciated and enhanced throughout the treatment process. This close relationship allows them to open-up and identify a pathway forward in their life that is meaningful, clear, and solid. To provide you with some background I would note that I am a licensed psychologist who has worked with college students for years. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, college transition stress, social skill challenges and anger management. I also help students who need specialized support in managing the organizational, writing, or academic demands of a college environment. I meet with students in individual, group, and family therapy sessions depending on the need. I also support students and their families in situations where they are stepping down from a stay in an in-patient hospital or are trying to avoid a hospitalization. My approach to treatment is holistic in that I use a range of time-tested treatment interventions to identify and address your needs in a personalized manner. I would be happy to answer any questions you have about my approach to treatment in our first phone contact. I maintain an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School and serve as a Clinical Associate at McLean Hospital, the medical school's largest teaching psychiatric hospital. I have supervised numerous psychologists, social workers, and psychiatrists over the course of my career and as such I am the Director of Training in my group practice, and I am currently training five psychology graduate students. I believe that my clients would say that my style of relating is supportive, compassionately challenging and fosters understanding and healing. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where we focus on process, growth and self-awareness. I work with adults and adolescents on issues related to healing trauma, family dynamics, relational issues, sexual health and wellbeing, stressors due to major life changes and navigating life’s array of challenges and general feelings of, “I’m just not feeling like myself lately.”

In my counseling work I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and groups. My clients include people struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. My relational and existential approach helps me understand and connect with my clients. I believe that the intent of therapy is exchanging "symptoms" for "coping skills." To accomplish this transformation, we need to understand our past to shed light on who we are in the present, where we have the power to focus on present issues and make changes that will influence our future. I see psychotherapy as a learning process. I bring my knowledge and understanding of psychological phenomena to bear on my client's life experiences. Psychotherapy is not an easy process, but I work to meet you, the client, where you are and to create safe space to explore and grow. In addition to psychotherapy work, I'm an adjunct faculty at Lesley University, where I teach Introduction to Psychology and Child Psychology. I have completed my psychoanalysis fellowship with the IPE, which is affiliated with the New York University School of Medicine. I'm also a certified Cognitive Behavioral group therapist.

My goal as a clinician is to help you feel free. In treatment, I will invite you to bring your whole self into the room, as you are. Together, we will work to identify the ways in which you feel stuck and shift unhealthy patterns that keep you from moving forward. There is no need to "have it all figured out." All I ask is that you remain open and curious to the known and unknown parts of yourself. It is my hope that through our work together, you will begin to better know who you are, identify what you want, and live a richer, more meaningful life.
