Hey, take a seat, get comfy! Life throws a lot at us, and it can feel like an uphill battle. So, let me start with this - no matter how messy it may seem, I'm here to listen. It can sometimes feel that society, one’s generation, or our own community has not prioritized our emotional wellbeing. This is our time to navigate the potentially spooky world of vulnerability in a nonjudgmental space. Whether it means we're going to dive into some anxious or depressive thoughts and feelings, explore life transitions you’re going through, or hold space for processing any trauma, this is where we work as a team to navigate these challenges. I provide both virtual and in-person sessions for individuals. I use an approach that works to bridge action steps with emotional attunement. With CBT, Solution-focused techniques, and Polyvagal Theory, I am here to help you discover what path you want to walk. If you find yourself seated across from me, I am a listener, an advocate, and a collaborator. If you can put up with the occasional pun or dad joke, I hope to hear from you! Here at Born to Bend Mental Health & Wellness, PLLC, we offer a safe, nonjudgmental environment. LGBTQ individuals, persons of color, and others marginalized by society are welcome.

There may come a time in life when you lose a person or pet and you recognize that the term, "My heart is broken" means so much more than emotional pain...it's a physical pain as well. You are lost, scared, lonely, and your world has been turned upside down. I can help. Maybe you have lost yourself in alcohol or drug abuse or wonder if you are drinking or using too much. You aren't a bad person but you are embarrassed or ashamed to discuss your alcohol or drug use. Let me help guide you back to the path that was meant for you. You have served your city, county, state, or country as a First Responder or Military member, but sometimes you struggle to feel your very best. Many people can't relate to what you've experienced or even done. At times, you may become stuck in your thoughts, memories, and experiences. Having been in Law Enforcement, I understand the typcial dark sense of humor often used that most people don't understand. I also recognize the need to focus on the task and I will work along side of you to resolve concerns as efficiently as possible. I also work well with those who experience anxiety/panic attacks, symptoms associated with ADHD, describe themselves as "perfectionists", and parents who seek parenting assistance. I am a survivor of suicide loss and frequently support others who have also experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide. I also work closely with the LGBTQIA+ community. I view each person and situation as unique. I am here to create a safe place for you to explore and process your feelings and experiences for which you are seeking services. I am not your “stereotypical” therapist. We can pray together, cuss like sailors, cry together, or share a good laugh. I believe that the use of appropriate self-disclosure can also strengthen the bond between the therapist and client. I am caring and compassionate, but I am also direct and will push you to confront what is holding you back from living your best life. It takes courage to ask for help, and I am beyond grateful to be the one to walk beside you in your journey of healing. I graduated from East Carolina, in 2000, with dual Masters Degrees: 1) Rehabilitation Counseling (vocational, emotional, physical, and behavioral concerns), and 2) Substance Abuse and Clinical Counseling. I started my career as an Addictions and Dual Diagnosis Therapist. After approximately 5 years as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), I started working with and advocating for families involved in the Juvenile Justice system. Nearly 16 years later, I decided to return to the counseling profession. Since returning, I have worked in a group setting as well as having opened my own private practice. I am currently seeing clients in person and via telehealth. I have available appointments throughout the week. No weekend appointments are available at this time.

Welcome! We help people help themselves to live a more full and whole life, void of medicating and suffering in isolation. We meet our clients where they are and invite them to learn and create what recovery means to them. We do this be holding up a mirror and walking with our clients rather than telling them what they should do. We also help clients connect. Isolation is such a painful symptom of anxiety, depression and medicating. 'Together we can do what we could never do alone' is what we practice at the Relationship Enrichment Center. Reach out, and let us support you.

I approach the therapeutic process with the belief that therapy is simply a human helping a human. By offering an objective and judgement free setting, my hope is to provide a space that offers freedom to share and feel without hesitation. I am a masters-level clinician; I earned a master of science degree in counseling and psychology from Troy University in 2016. I'm a client centered counselor with a passion to help empower individuals to gain knowledge, skills, and tools to work through their presenting problems. I aim to build a therapeutic alliance with my clients and create a safe, judgment-free atmosphere with the hope that they are able to openly explore their thoughts and feelings. I believe in the power of knowledge and it's ability to impact healing and frequently apply psychoeducation into treatment. I'm a strength-based therapist and my overall theoretical orientation is integrative; it commonly includes utilization of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as behavioral and solution-focused techniques. I enjoy working with individuals who suffer from anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, relationship issues, and various life challenges. I'm happy to currently serve individuals 18+. I'm licensed in NC and SC. I'm also an out-of-state provider for the state of Florida allowing the option for telehealth for clients located in Florida at the time of service.
