Humor is something I like to incorporate into therapy; however, we can be serious about your concerns too. People of all ages struggle with human suffering and sometimes you need someone to walk with you through that, whether it be something you wish to change or something that you cannot. I aim to help my clients make meaning in life while also identifying the connections between our individual concerns and larger systems in life. I provide individual therapy for a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, identity exploration, and trauma, with specialized experience supporting people through grief, traumatic loss, and substance use concerns. My clients have expressed appreciation for my ability to sit with them in their suffering, when they have felt most alone. I have multiple years of experience previously working in college counseling centers. During these experiences, I supported students from a variety of backgrounds and found a lot of joy in helping students at a unique intersection in their lives. I have been lucky to work with a diverse student population and have supported many queer and trans students in exploring their gender and sexual identities while also addressing other mental health concerns. In addition, I was able to support BIPOC students as they addressed systemic issues within the university, while also exploring their individual racial identities. I further co-facilitated a family-trauma group during my time at a university counseling center. Thus, I find that I greatly appreciate being able to sit with students who are addressing these concerns. I am a Psychologist Resident in OR. I have my doctorate and five years of experience providing therapy, however, to become licensed in OR I must complete a supervised residency. I am supervised by Dr. Carrie McMullin (OR 2963). Any of us, from adults to very young children, can experience life challenges that require the caring support of other people. Sometimes we need help to navigate these challenges, and to heal, reorient, and move forward in our lives toward better health and wholeness. When the emotional support of friends and family is not enough, establishing a safe, collaborative relationship with a psychotherapist can be a valuable resource. I enjoy working with students who are ready to access support and guidance in order to address the social-emotional or mental health challenges that are holding them back; the changes and healing they are seeking in their relationships with parents, other family members, friends and/or partners; and clarification of needs, wants and life goals.

The demands of life, as well as ever growing expectations, can cause us to feel disconnected from ourselves, our dreams and the people around us. And as we move through life we can experience challenges that may prompt change, but we may not feel prepared for these challenges. This can cause us to feel overwhelmed and uncertain about how to navigate our future, but these challenges can also be opportunities for growth that can be discovered with the help of a therapist.

Do you feel stuck relationally, emotionally, or in your career path? There are explanations for this behavior and ways to change it. I love helping people learn how to have healthy boundaries with others, their work, or some other habit they are concerned about. If you want to understand yourself better and possibly learn to make healthier choices based on your values, I would love to work with you. I am an ally regardless of race, culture, physical ability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, immigration status, political affiliation, sexual orientation, or spiritual beliefs. Many people experience symptoms of anxiety and depression because they are currently OR have been in relation (family, friend, partner, co-worker, etc) to another person who has OR has had a substance or other behavioral problem. The negative effects can be long-lasting, confusing, and persist without treatment. If this is a familiar for you, call me.

I have experience working with individuals on a variety of issues. My specialties include work with anxiety, addiction, OCD, and trauma. My process with clients is very solution focused in- nature. I aim to utilize the strengths clients already possess to bring progress into all facets of their life. I also believe that utilizing the values of clients to guide therapeutic work is essential to meaningful and lasting change. While navigating change, I assist clients in learning to tolerate distress, navigate difficult emotions, while finding effectiveness and fulfillment in their day to day lives. I hope that by being authentic in my role as a therapist I can facilitate this process and create an environment for clients that is both safe, secure, and motivating. I appreciate the opportunity to join my clients in their change process and look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have about my services. I have extensive experience working with individuals seeking recovery, in addition to families and couples coping with the effects of addiction/alcoholism. My philosophy of addiction treatment includes both abstinence based and harm reduction, whichever the client feels fits their needs, as well as integration into recovery communities if desired.

Assisting woman-identified Oregon State students for nearly twenty years has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. I have assisted students in all areas of study and from many continents. I have aided students in managing existing mental health challenges, adjusting to new mental health diagnoses, navigating academic stressors and relationship changes, healing from sexual assaults and traumas, learning to use their voice, becoming more comfortable in their bodies, and more. Being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker means that I believe that we are best understood in relation to our inner and outer environments, and also that our strengths hold wisdom that act as a blueprint for understanding our challenges. I work relationally with no workbooks or homework and believe that a healthy therapeutic relationship is a the most important tool in assisting others. My counseling style has been described as warm and nurturing, yet direct. I work best with students who are seeking therapy for themselves and are looking to actively engage in a change process. Feminist and Narrative theories heavily inform my work and I also use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as tools to help create lasting change.

My ideal client is motivated to improve their quality of life and may struggle with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and grief/trauma related issues. They are interested in understanding themselves and cultivating healthy coping strategies to deal with the challenges of our modern world, with the ultimate goal of thriving, not just surviving. They understand that we all have the opportunity to continue growing and want to live a more self-expressed life by identifying and challenging negative and self-limiting thinking patterns. I compassionately support and validate my clients, while also encouraging them to take on the challenges in their life. I have significant experience with mindfulness practices and believe in the power of creativity (writing, music, art) as a therapeutic tool. Most people are settling for less than what their lives can possibly be. I am committed to helping you lead a self-expressed life and to help you see all the ways that you are a gift to yourself and others. I do not have all the answers, but I believe that together we can inspire each other and produce breakthroughs you may not think are possible.

Trauma recovery involves the process of healing both the body and mind from overwhelming experiences by reconnecting with oneself in an integrated way. It includes developing interoception—the ability to sense and interpret internal bodily cues—which helps individuals notice and respond to their emotional and physical states with greater awareness and regulation. Recovery also involves working with both implicit memories (unconscious, body-held responses like tension or startle reflexes) and explicit memories (conscious, narrative recollections of events). Through therapeutic approaches that access these memory systems, individuals begin to make sense of their experiences, reduce reactivity, and create new, safer associations, allowing for a more grounded and empowered sense of self.

My practice is built around providing counseling with Neurofeedback to adults and adolescents. I believe therapy can be tremendously beneficial in many ways, but particularly in offering an opportunity to look at life experiences and difficulties within an environment that emphasizes a strong, appropriate, and trusting relationship between client and therapist. EEG Neurofeedback is guidance of brain function, resulting in a more efficient and self-regulated brain. We watch the brain in action from one instant to another, and we display that information back to the person. We reward the brain for altering its own activity to more suitable patterns. I am able to quickly build rapport with male clients who are uncomfortable in therapeutic situations and those who have difficulty expressing their emotions.

You look like you have it together but inside you are exhausted, overwhelmed, or just quietly struggling in ways nobody around you seems to notice. The students I work with have often been carrying something heavy for a long time: anxiety that won't quit, a past they can't stop thinking about, or a pattern of burning out no matter how hard they try to keep up. Some are high achievers who look completely fine on the outside while feeling overwhelmed or empty on the inside. Others are navigating something that happened earlier in life that is finally surfacing now that they have space to breathe. Many of my clients have tried talking about their problems before and felt like it helped in the moment but didn't really change anything. That's because some of what we carry doesn't live in our thoughts. It lives in the nervous system, in the body, in patterns wired into the brain long before we had words for them. I use approaches, such as EMDR and IFS, that work directly with the brain and body, not just the thinking mind, which is why clients often notice real shifts after feeling stuck for years. You don't need to have it figured out before we talk. You just need to be curious about why you keep feeling the way you do, and open to the idea that something can actually shift. If you're dealing with anxiety, burnout, trauma, depression, difficult relationships, or a general sense that something is off and you can't quite name it, you are probably in the right place.
