Therapists for college students near Portland, OR
Hi and welcome to Story Unfolding LLC. I believe therapy to be a dynamic process which can facilitate a greater understanding of self and others while providing gentle direction in shifting long standing beliefs, patterns, and behaviors. We all have stories of our lives we recite to ourselves and others; some of these stories are ones which build us up while others are ones which hold us hostage. We also all have histories in these stories; histories of identities we hold, labels we were given, trauma we experienced, circumstances we can never understand, behaviors we are not proud of, and the list goes on. I will work alongside you to identify what these are, the history/context in these, and how to re-construct the stories which support your ability to respond to difficult emotions, to improve relationships, to care for self, to feel joy, and to have greater resiliency. I am thankful you’re here exploring your options of a different and better path forward; I look forward to hearing from you!

Anxiety!, Stress!, pressure to conform and hide who you are can be so exhausting. Whether you are neurodivergent, autistic, queer, gender expansive, or experience multiple intersections of being marginalized, the last thing you need is to be told how to conform to systems of oppression that don’t value you. If you are longing to really be known and celebrated for who you are, let’s talk and work together so you have the nourishing environment in therapy where you can experience the healing and growth you desire to have a vibrant life.
Mulberry Tree Integrative Mental Health specializes in treating the whole person through Functional Psychiatry. While we do offer medication management, we also offer a deeper look into factors that may also be contributing to mental health challenges, including nutritional imbalances and genetic influences.
Starting the therapy process is a sign of strength and vulnerability. I believe that we all have the power to create change in our lives by allowing ourselves to see ourselves and be seen by others in our lives. Together, we will explore the origins of your patterns of thinking/behaving/relating as well as the functions that these patterns serve, assess your barriers to change, identify your strengths and resources, and practice new ways of coping in order to help you live a more satisfying life.
Welcome! I am an LCSW with 29+ years experience specializing in trauma. I have been in private practice for 21 years and I worked in residential treatment and inpatient psychiatric hospitals with adolescents prior to this. I am licensed in CO, WA, OR and NY.
You are enough. There is nothing wrong with your body. You have always been deserving of love, respect, and softness. Yes, even you! Whether it’s strengthening your relationship with yourself through developing more self-compassion, guiding you in how to communicate more effectively with your partner, or helping you navigate a rough conflict with your best friend, I am here to provide you with non-judgmental support every step of the way. My clients are often fat folks, queer besties, sex workers, and people experiencing chronic pain or chronic illness. This is a space for you to be seen, heard, and validated in your beauty and complexity. I will always be transparent with you about the ins and outs of the therapeutic process because I believe that collaboration and consent are vital to creating safety and trust in our time together. I view therapy as a potential cozy space for corrective, reparative experiences that can start to soften clients’ inner experiences. That’s the whole idea behind the name “Soft Spot”: melting away the hardness that our society or trauma forces unto us and, in place, deepening into more of the lovely softness that’s always been there. You get to delight in the pleasure of being you.
Hello! It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance! My name is Anna and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a native Oregonian, an Oregon State University graduate (go Beavs!), and received a master's degree in Social Work from Portland State University in 2019. I am a mom to one dog, four cats, and two human teenagers, and when it's not raining, you can find me out in the garden, eating chocolate, or listening to 90's music. I serve youth aged 10 through older adulthood and believe it is never too late to try something new. Conditions I treat most often include anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, anger, grief, and navigating becoming your most authentic self. I am an affirming, accepting, LGBTQIA+ ally and clinician.
I love providing support to students navigating the challenges unique to the college years. I work well with both traditional and non-traditional students. I offer a warm and empathic connection, with plenty of care balanced with humor. I enjoy building a therapeutic connection and assisting my clients in their own growth and development.
Soothe anxiety, heal past wounds, and come home to yourself. You long to feel more confident and at home in your own skin, but right now you feel stuck, lost, and exhausted from feeling like you're never enough. You can't seem to find lasting relief from anxiousness in your mind/body, even after trying so many ways to feel better. Perhaps you have been made to feel like your sensitivity and tender heart is "too much". You don't have to figure this out alone. I support young women as they cultivate inner peace and a renewed sense of wholeness. I support clients with a warm, compassionate, and relational approach backed by trauma-informed tools to make feeling grounded more accessible. A holistic mind-body-spirit approach can help you cultivate a sense of peace and clarity in the present, while accessing deeper emotional healing. If this resonates with you, email me to schedule a free consultation call.
My counseling practice integrates holistic mind and body-oriented therapeutic approaches, depth psychology, and client-centered care. I offer you support to move past your blocks, calm your fears, and experience your truest self. My experiential approaches are guided by your values and aims.
Hello! My name is Jenn Mayeda and I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHC) and Mental Health Professional (MHP) in Washington state and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oregon. I am able to meet with residents who are living in Washington or Oregon. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Portland State University. My experience as a therapist comes from working for many years in community mental health with a wide range of clients. I have worked with children, families, teens, and adults in various programs. I also have experience doing crisis outreach at hospitals and answering calls on the crisis line and working on a specialized domestic violence team where we collaborated closely with a local DV agency to provide therapy and support to DV survivors and families impacted by domestic violence. My experience includes working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, Bi-polar disorder, grief and loss, life adjustments, trauma and parenting skills and support. I especially enjoy working with survivors of domestic violence. Many people think of domestic violence being mostly physical abuse, but DV also includes mental, emotional, psychological, sexual, financial, technology, religious, technology and physical abuse as well as power and control. I hold a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2 certificate. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my 2 sons and family, cooking, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, spending time at the beach and visiting new places. My role as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment for my clients. I empower individuals to overcome personal obstacles they are experiencing by using a variety of treatment techniques depending on the needs of each individual. I enjoy helping clients explore ways to make changes in their lives and learn new skills so they can have a hopeful and fulfilling future. If you are ready to make a positive change in your life, I encourage you to take that first step. I look forward to working with you and consider it a privilege and an honor to work alongside you on this journey. Please contact me below to schedule an intake or a free 20-minute consultation to discuss any questions you may have and to see if we may be a good fit to work together. My practice model is all about helping clients explore themselves and their place in the world. As a licensed psychologist with experience working in a variety of care settings, I have expertise in treating depression, anxiety, lifestyle stress, trauma, addiction, and spiritual/existential distress. My therapy takes a nonjudgmental, compassion oriented focus. Through guiding my clients to approach themselves in more open and honest ways, I help them uncover their core needs so that they may lead lives that feel vibrant and fulfilling. I view health as a balance between mind, body, spirit, and environment. As such, my therapy style is holistic. I regularly guide my clients in mindfulness-based practices and offer an approach that blends Internal Family Systems therapy with somatic work and cognitive-behavioral exploration. In a culture where consciousness altering drug use is on the rise, I also work with clients to gain optimal wellness following challenging, disorienting, or invigorating psychedelic experiences. My passion for the Enneagram heavily informs my therapeutic lens, and I happily teach this tool to clients interested in evolving their understanding of self. I work to bolster my clients’ strengths while developing new skills and fresh insights. With sensitivity to the health impact of both personal and cultural forces, I strive to create a safe, welcoming space for my clients to explore all facets of their identities.

It feels like no matter how hard you try, somehow you always end up right back where you started. Plagued by nagging self-doubts that say you aren’t good enough, strong enough, or smart enough, you wonder how anyone could really love you. Fearful that if other people knew the “real” you, they’d turn away. Bending and contorting yourself to be what others think you should be, you end up feeling anxious or depressed most of the time. And then there are those experiences that you don’t talk about. The shame and guilt are too much. Every day feels harder than the last with no end in sight. You don’t have to live that way anymore. I will teach you the skills to identify the thoughts and beliefs that are getting in your way, the steps to change them, and a new way to see yourself and your experiences. I won’t lie, this is hard work. But it will be so much easier than staying stuck. You can do this and I will be by your side supporting you. Now is the time to step into a new chapter in your life. Experience an inner voice that is encouraging and hopeful. Hold yourself with compassion and care. Embrace your authentic self. Feel free, hopeful and happy. Call me today to set up your free consultation. Welcoming diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, sexual orientations and gender identities.

Hi! I believe everyone is capable of healing, growth and positive change. I bring compassion, humor and authenticity to our counseling relationship. My work reflects my values and is strengths-focused, trauma-informed, anti-racist, and LGBTQIA-affirming. During our most difficult times, we develop coping strategies that serve us and keep us safe. I work with people to examine which strategies still benefit them and which they want to adjust or let go. People often enter therapy caught in shame or the belief they are somehow broken. We can work together to find skills that benefit you and build on strengths you already possess. My approach is client-centered and integrative and includes techniques from mindfulness-based awareness, CBT, Internal Family Systems, DBT, and EMDR among others. As a cancer survivor, I also bring an intimate and personal awareness of the struggles and growth that can occur through treatment and healing. My work offers a safe and welcoming space for you to explore, grow, and heal. It takes courage and vulnerability to start counseling. Please call or email me if you think I might be able to help. I wish you well on your journey.
