The Counseling Corner is a group of dedicated clinicians who take pride in providing quality mental health care. As a mental health practice, we assist members by providing therapy to a wide array of people who are in pursuit of happiness. Our team is comprised of exceptional clinicians with a variety of specialties to ensure we give you the best support possible. From our founder: I wanted to take a moment to share something deeply personal and meaningful to me. At 23, I faced an unimaginable loss when I lost my mother to alcohol addiction. It was a painful journey that led me to struggle with my own mental health for nearly a decade. During that time, I often searched for a purpose and a way to turn my pain into something positive. Today, I’m proud to announce that I’ve opened this mental health practice. We are building a team of incredible clinicians, each of whom shares a commitment to help others navigate difficult times and find hope and healing. Our goal is to create a safe space where people can feel understood, supported, and empowered on their journey to wellness. We’re here to save lives and help individuals reclaim their strength. If you or someone you know is looking for support, please reach out. Thank you for allowing me to share this journey with you. My approach in working with clients is to explore and understand their psychological experiences. In addition, I use psychoeducation and neuroeducation to help clients intellectually understand why they are experiencing what they are experiencing, then collaborate on an actionable plan to change undesired behaviors and thought patterns. I incorporate mind-body interventions to help clients manage their symptoms. My therapeutic approach is evidence-based & integrative. I have extensive trainings and experience in trauma therapy & dialectical behavioral therapy.

At The Better You Institute, we work with students who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, even when things seem fine on the outside. If you're a student who gets good grades, has a good relationship with their family, and a healthy social life but feels like things could be better or you could be doing more, our therapists are the right fit for you! Maybe you’re juggling academic pressures, relationships, family expectations, identity questions, or feelings of anxiety and burnout. You might feel like you’re doing “all the right things” but still feel lost, unsure, or like you’re falling short. That’s where we come in. We create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, reflect, and make sense of what’s really going on beneath the surface. Together, we help you explore patterns that might be keeping you stuck—whether that’s perfectionism, people-pleasing, shutting down when stressed, or struggling to communicate your needs. Our therapists guide you in building healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and connecting so you can navigate life’s challenges with more clarity and confidence. Where you feel like you're in the driver seat, not everything else. We affirm and support all identities, including LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, neurodiversety. If you’re ready for therapy that helps you feel more grounded, connected, and true to yourself, we’re here to walk alongside you. You don’t have to figure it out alone. We have the tools to help you make this chapter in your life work for you, not against you and get to the other side with confidence.

Hi! My name is Grace and I am a Licensed Social Worker offering talk therapy and EMDR in-person at the Fishtown Wellness Center. With a background in case management, education, and activism, my approach to therapy is anti-oppressive, relational, and holistic. My goal is to be a partner in your healing rather than an authority, and I encourage you to offer feedback throughout our time together. I welcome those who may be new to therapy or skeptical about it and I am committed to discovering together how we can best address your concerns. I am informed by a diverse range of therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I have experience working with a wide range of client concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD, sexuality and gender exploration, trauma and grief. My style is non-judgmental and compassionate, offering clients a safe environment in which to grow. I am particularly attuned to the unique needs of the LGBTQIA+ community, those in non-monogamous relationships, and neurodivergent folks.

As a queer woman who practices polyamory, I can understand how we are often unprepared for the difficulties that arise when living in a mononormative society. It makes sense that emotions like fear or depression are brought up when we go outside of those norms, even for the seasoned consensually nonmonogamous folks. Together we can navigate your polyamorous relationship structure if you or you and your partner(s) find yourselves with insecure attachment styles impacting your relationship(s), are having difficulty managing boundaries, or need help dismantling couple's privilege. You deserve to feel accepted, valued, and back in charge of your own life. With our work individually or as a relationship with your partner(s), you will find that you'll be able to express your emotions clearly to the people in your life, advocate for your needs and wants more effectively, and as a result find yourself feeling less stress. Please reach out to me if any of this resonated with you. You can have a healthy, fulfilling life while practicing polyamory and I am here to help you achieve that. Please email me so we can set up a free phone consultation to talk in more detail about what your wants and needs are.

Clients often leave sessions feeling empowered, validated, & understood, ready to move forward with confidence. As a queer therapist, I specialize in trauma-informed therapy for LGBTQIA+ folx. Come as you are - I'll meet you there. Life is too short to surrender to old wounds, unhealthy relationships, or the weight of trauma. You deserve to feel seen, heard, and free- to live on your own terms—with purpose, connection, and peace. If you're ready to break patterns and begin again, reclaim your truth. Let’s connect and begin the work together.

Therapy is a great tool to explore how your past experiences and early relationships influence your current relationships, symptoms of anxiety, depression, and how you navigate and process feelings. I truly believe the relational component to therapy (relationship between therapist and patient) can bring to light reactions, feelings, and patterns that show up outside of the therapy space. With this, you can begin to gain insight into how these experiences make you feel and make changes that align with your wants and needs. My hope is to create a collaborative, non-judgmental and validating space to allow for exploration of concerns and enable growth. I encourage you to contact me so we can begin to explore what is holding you back from living a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

I work best with students who feel a lot—sometimes all at once—and aren’t sure where to put it. You might be dealing with anxiety, identity questions, relationship stress, or the pressure to keep everything together while quietly struggling inside. If you’re queer or exploring your identity, you’ll find a space here where you don’t have to explain or defend who you are. And if you’re looking for a therapist who is warm, collaborative, and open-minded, this might be a good fit. Please reach out!
