Therapists for college students near Pittsburgh, PA
Creating change can be an uncomfortable process, and it can help to have someone accompany you on your journey to a more authentic life. I work best with adults who are ready to engage in the sometimes challenging but deeply rewarding process of personal growth and healing. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, chronic health conditions, or co-occurring disorders, and are seeking meaningful change in their lives. I also have a strong understanding of the unique pressures faced by healthcare professionals and experience providing care for those involved with the Pennsylvania Nurse Peer Assistance Program (PNAP). I specialize in treating dual diagnosis and and I have specific experience working with substance use/chemical addictions and chronic health conditions. CBT and ACT are my primary modalities, however they are not the only interventions I use. Whatever interventions are used, the ideal outcome is to create sustainable, healthy change for individuals. I especially value working with individuals who are open to exploring their experiences, who may feel stuck but are willing to reflect, grow, and lean into their strengths. If you're looking for a grounded, compassionate, and collaborative space to sort through life’s complexities, we may be a good fit.

I welcome teens and adults to my practice. There are many reasons that lead to the decision to seek therapy, and I believe in meeting you where you are in this process. Empathy, compassion, and patience are the foundation of my practice. I believe in utilizing the power of the therapeutic relationship in combination with a variety of evidence based practices to empower clients to learn the tools they need to work towards their goals. I use mindfulness based practices, calling on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help individuals better understand themselves and develop strategies to navigate life's stressors. I have experience working with individuals with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, adjustment concerns, and chronic health conditions. I have specialized training working with college students as well as individuals with histories of trauma and relational challenges.
I believe that at some point in life, everybody needs somebody. None of us are immune to hardship and distress. Really, it is not a matter of "if" but "when." Even though there are natural ebbs and flows, sometimes we need for someone to hear us, hold our pain, validate our experience and model a new way of coping with patterns of thinking and behavior that keep us stuck. For that reason, my passion is to aide in a client’s journey towards self-fulfillment. Through my clinical work, I am committed to supporting and empowering clients in times of distress through warmth, compassion, and challenging them to discover their true selves. I use a variety of systems that takes an integrative approach to help clients develop strategies for generalized anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic, phobias, separation anxiety, PANS/PANDAS, tics, hair pulling, skin picking, and trauma. Additionally, I have experience working with selective mutism, survivors of violent and non-violent crimes, and first responder’s mental health.

I'm a trauma therapist offering online therapy to college students throughout Pennsylvania. My specialty is IFS-informed EMDR: EMDR helps your brain reprocess painful memories so they lose their grip on the present, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) brings compassion to the parts of you that learned to protect you in hard times. Together, they let us work through trauma at a pace that feels safe — without having to retell your story over and over. Many of the students I work with are carrying more than a heavy course load: childhood wounds, anxiety that won't switch off, depression, ADHD, or the pressure of holding it all together far from home. Therapy with me is a place where all of that can be looked at without judgment. I believe we can let go of our past and accept ourselves as we are — and that self-acceptance is the first step toward change. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified in EMDR (EMDRIA) and trained in IFS (IFS Institute) and DBT, with a master's in Counseling Psychology from Temple University and eight years of practice. Sessions are $185 with sliding-scale spots available, and I provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. I offer a free 20-minute consultation — reach out and let's see if we're a good fit.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, academic stress, self-doubt, life transitions, or identity questions, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate it alone. I specialize in helping students like you find clarity, confidence, and balance. With experience working with high achievers, I understand the unique pressures of managing success and expectations. At EmBODY Confidence, we support neurodivergent women and teens who struggle with eating disorders, body dysmorphia, anxiety, low self-esteem, and emotional dysregulation. Our approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and self-understanding, helping you feel truly at home in your body without shame or apology. You want to trust your emotions, take up space, eat without guilt, and show up fully in your life. We are here to help you get there with compassion, clarity, and courage. Together, we explore the deeper roots of your struggles, build awareness of the systems that created them, and develop tools for lasting change. We work collaboratively, because you know yourself and your body best. We are a fat-positive, anti-diet, LGBTQIA+, and gender-affirming practice aligned with Health at Every Size® (HAES). EmBODY Confidence is neurodivergent-affirming and committed to creating a space where every body, identity, and mind is welcomed and safe. Research shows that neurodivergent women and LGBTQIA+ individuals are more likely to experience eating disorders or disordered eating patterns than cisgender individuals. Unfortunately, traditional treatment models often fail to meet their unique needs. Our work bridges that gap with affirming, specialized care designed specifically for you. You do not have to do this alone. Healing is possible and you are absolutely worthy of it.

I know firsthand how powerful and healing therapy can be, as well as how frustrating and painful it sometimes is. I believe therapy is a co-created relationship that enables us to reckon with ourselves, therefore making possible the change we want to see in our lives. My style is human — I’m not a neutral observer or blank slate, I am an engaged, deeply caring person. I share what I think honestly and with humility. My therapeutic approach is integrative. I work primarily from a psychodynamic lens, and am internal family systems-informed. Clients have described me as caring, calm, and “bad at having a poker face.” To that end, I share what I think honestly and with humility. In my practice, I work with individuals who have experienced trauma, relationship issues, and want to work through life transitions, and boundary setting. I help my clients develop tools, communicate more effectively, clarify their needs, unlearn old unhelpful beliefs about themselves, and get unstuck from painful patterns. Together we will look at your past to understand what you’re still hanging onto that you’d like to let go of. I can help you understand links between the past and present, while also helping you develop skills for coping and emotional regulation as you engage in therapy.
At Unleashed Mind Counseling Services, I work with college students who are navigating the challenges of relationships, life transitions, and mental health.
