When life feels like too much to hold on your own, there is overwhelm, anxiety, uncertainty, or you could just use some extra support, therapy can be a beautiful choice. Therapy is many things; understanding old, habitual patterns, processing painful or confusing emotions, cultivating resources, reclaiming pleasure, and developing a trusted relationship with another person to process the most vulnerable parts. If talk therapy has already been tried and feels stale, then art and creativity, somatics, nervous system awareness, and nature connection can offer a profound alternative in your therapeutic journey. This is where I come in. I weave together art and creativity, somatics, nature-connection, and mindfulness. As well as reflection, contemplation, and talking to integrate. I work well with themes of identity, times of transition, expansion, self-compassion, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, decision making, burn-out, relationship dynamics, addiction, trauma, and parts work.
Along with individual therapy my practice offers a Young Adult Therapy Group. I co-facilitate the young adult group with Marian Salley. We have been running this group for over 3 years, some of the members have been with us since the beginning. Group members are from all over and the group is ONLINE. Think of the members of this group as a party of adventurers, who get to know each other through time spent together, by sharing the emotionally relevant events from their own lives and the interactions that evolve between them within the group. A group of familiars they can take with them thru the various transitions in their lives. Overtime members witness each other’s ups and downs and become known to each other through the experience of sharing their lives, feelings and responding to how they effect one another in the here and now. This is an excellent group for young adults who are looking for a social space to explore emotional experiences, social anxieties, interpersonal relationships and whatever might come in a group of peers. If you are interested go to my website and look under therapy groups.
I am a practicum intern therapist offering somatic, person-centered therapy for adults navigating life transitions, relationship challenges and identity shifts. I am especially passionate about helping women traverse the emotional landscape of midlife, menopause, and perimenopause. My approach to therapy is grounded, intuitive, and deeply relational. I create a warm, attuned space where you feel supported in exploring who you are and where you want to go. I believe that change feeds the soul—and that healing begins when we meet ourselves with compassion, curiosity and courage. Before entering the field of psychotherapy, I was a professional musician and integrative somatic coach. My background in music and coaching informs my ability to listen deeply, connect through presence, and help you attune to the rhythms of your own inner experience. In addition to completing my Master's in Clinical Counseling at Adams State University, I am currently pursuing certification as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner through Somatic Experiencing International. College can be a time of big transitions, self-discovery, and sometimes, feeling overwhelmed. I work with students navigating life changes, anxiety, motivational issues, perfectionism, the inner critic, self-esteem challenges, and coming into their identity. I also support folks exploring their experiences with neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ identities. At the heart of my practice is a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel truly seen and heard. Together, we’ll explore your inner world and uncover the pathways to healing that feel right for you. If you’re ready to take the next step in your journey, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
Sometimes words don't cut it. Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or seeking a safe space to explore your inner world? Art therapy uses tools that take traditional talk therapy to the next level by giving you an embodied experience. The heart of my practice is believing people are their own experts. You are the ONLY you with your exact values, experiences, routines, heartaches, and desires. I want you to feel seen, foster a deeper understanding of your journey, and find answers and solace through your own innate intuition. If you're new to art therapy you may not be aware of how creativity can open new doors of understanding and connection. Sometimes we get stuck on a judgmental message from 1st grade that we aren’t “good” at artmaking. Well, I say forget that! You ARE inherently creative and it’s okay to heal using both the logical AND intuitive sides of your brain. You get to lead at your comfort level and I will authentically support you using tools and techniques (whether open-ended or more structured) to guide you. If you are seeking space to work through an issue you're having, improve self-esteem, cope with anxiety or depression, manage stress, deal with relationship or parenting issues, process trauma, or just vent, consider reaching out to me.
