I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, perfectionism, self-doubt, or a sense of disconnection from themselves or others. You might even be unsure of what's "wrong" and are seeking clarity. My approach is collaborative, active, and designed for healing and creating change. I have advanced training in AEDP and often integrate IFS/parts work and guided mindfulness into sessions. For those interested, I offer Dreamwork as part of the therapeutic process.

Starting therapy can feel daunting, so take a moment to acknowledge that you have come this far in recognizing therapy may be a helpful approach for you. Therapy requires self-reflection, an open heart, and a curious mind into learning about ourselves and the way in which we interact with the world and those around us. Although it may be daunting, it is incredibly rewarding to unpack and understand what is getting in the way of happiness, growth, intimacy, and self-compassion. My purpose as a therapist is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore the deep rooted issues and patterns that make them feel "stuck". I support clients with strategies pulled from EMDR, mindfulness, yoga, and other person-centered approaches.
My practice is built around providing counseling with Neurofeedback to adults and adolescents. I believe therapy can be tremendously beneficial in many ways, but particularly in offering an opportunity to look at life experiences and difficulties within an environment that emphasizes a strong, appropriate, and trusting relationship between client and therapist. EEG Neurofeedback is guidance of brain function, resulting in a more efficient and self-regulated brain. We watch the brain in action from one instant to another, and we display that information back to the person. We reward the brain for altering its own activity to more suitable patterns. I am able to quickly build rapport with male clients who are uncomfortable in therapeutic situations and those who have difficulty expressing their emotions.
I work with individuals navigating anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, and the impact of past experiences. Many students I see feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to cope with everything they’re carrying. I offer a supportive, grounded space to help you better understand yourself, build coping skills, and feel more connected and confident in your daily life.

Assisting woman-identified Oregon State students for nearly twenty years has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. I have assisted students in all areas of study and from many continents. I have aided students in managing existing mental health challenges, adjusting to new mental health diagnoses, navigating academic stressors and relationship changes, healing from sexual assaults and traumas, learning to use their voice, becoming more comfortable in their bodies, and more. Being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker means that I believe that we are best understood in relation to our inner and outer environments, and also that our strengths hold wisdom that act as a blueprint for understanding our challenges. I work relationally with no workbooks or homework and believe that a healthy therapeutic relationship is a the most important tool in assisting others. My counseling style has been described as warm and nurturing, yet direct. I work best with students who are seeking therapy for themselves and are looking to actively engage in a change process. Feminist and Narrative theories heavily inform my work and I also use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as tools to help create lasting change.
My name is Paul Radel and I am a clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience working with individuals to address issues and maximize their potential. I strive to create an environment that is welcoming and safe where people can work collaboratively on their journey. I live in Eugene, Oregon but practice soley through telehealth software called intakeQ which offers secure and confidential communication and hosts therapy sessions.
Are you anxious, overwhelmed, or in need of a space to talk things through? You are in the right place. My name is Emma, and I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I love to support clients in deepening self-awareness and developing strategies for feeling more grounded and satisfied in life. Alongside this person-centered and emotion-focused approach, I also use CBT, EXRP, and BA for more highly targeted anxiety, OCD, and depression interventions that are effective and evidence-based. The therapeutic relationship creates a safe space to openly process thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement. As your therapist, it is my job to ensure that you feel understood, safe, and supported as we work together to help you achieve your goals. You are the expert on you, and I am your expert guide through the therapy process. I respect the autonomy and values of each individual client and come to the therapy process offering a balance of compassion and guidance. Are you new to therapy, have you tried it before without finding the right fit, or perhaps you are looking for a new approach? My name is Gus Culbertson (he/him/his) and I am a Clinical Social Worker. I started Balancing Perspectives Practice because I believe that when we take an intentional look at the perspectives we hold about ourselves and the world around us, and then make this into a practice, it can allow us to lean into our most authentic and balanced selves. I am here to support clients in finding a good-fit therapist. I have worked for a number of years to understand the unique challenges faced by young adults, medical and health science students & professionals, and front-line workers. I also work with individuals navigating life transitions, unhelpful self-expectations, procrastination, depression, anxiety, and identity struggles. Many of those I work with want to learn how to engage intentionally with the range of emotions, communicate effectively with others, decrease stress, incorporate mindful/spiritual practices, and explore differing perspectives. I am a firm believer in the power of the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for change. My approach is tailored to each client and is rooted in a values-based, emotion-focused, and mindful practice. If you are ready to begin this journey, please contact me for a free consultation. I initially work with clients to outline their goals in care to see if we might be a good fit to work together in individual therapy. If we are, I look forward to working together to help you recognize your strengths, build resilience, and cultivate authenticity to find the fulfillment you deserve. If, for whatever reason we are not, I can support you in finding the right fit through my services as a Clinical Care Manager. This is of note if you would like assistance in finding a therapist who is in-network with your insurance.
